Joanna Scammell

MD, Technology Enabled Care

National Social Care charity and provider

Community Integrated Care (CIC) is committed to being a digital-first organisation. In Joanna, it has a digital-first leader, with responsibility for the development and implementation of CIC's technology-enabled solutions.

In her own words, Joanna sees technology "as an enabler to transform the way we deliver services" - she is known for her collaborative approach to finding solutions that make a genuine difference to the way that care is delivered.

Here are just a few of the ways that vision has been turned into reality:

  • Sensors and other internet-connected smart devices complement existing support and provide richer, more comprehensive care data

  • High-speed internet access for all services, enabling service users to access video calling and online activities available through their What to Do? platform

  • Digital care planning through Nourish, making it easier for staff to accurately record and monitor care delivery

CIC also runs regular pilots to test out new ideas, holding true to Joanna's belief that the sector will need to harness the potential of new technologies to fill the void created by the Government's decision to postpone radical funding reform.

She recently joined us for our  webinar on all things digital transformation to discuss this and much more:
